James Point Beach
Official Eleuthera Harbour Island brings you information on James Point Beach. James Point is a low sandy foreland located in central Eleuthera.
The beach is split into six little curved bays between each of the breakwaters that have been built. The place is surrounded by a short grassy dune that widens to 300 feet in the south, followed by the perimeter road and the oil refinery.
The beach is normally calm with modest waves, but there is some strong sea breezes sometimes.
James Point Beach can pleasantly surprise you if you are looking for an attractive location. Especially when the tide is low or even when the Atlantic side of the water is turbulent. You will enjoy the shadows of the big casuarina trees in the morning.
The protected bay is peaceful and has a nice sandy bottom that is shallow for a long distance out. This is an excellent swimming location. Alternatively, you can learn to snorkel here. Snorkeling is excellent near the end of the bay, where the water is rocky. Some cliffs protrude from the lake.
