Ocean Hole
Official Eleuthera Harbour Island brings you information on Ocean Hole. Ocean Hole is a big salt water lake located inland. It is known as a bottomless blue hole, has a diverse Eco-system, and is home to a plethora of tropical fish eager to demonstrate their ability to jump for bits of bread. This body of water, which is known to be connected to the Atlantic Ocean, rises and falls with the oceanic tides.
The Ocean Hole Park, which adjoins the blue hole, was classified as a protected area in 1970.
According to a local diver, the hole is around 75 feet deep. Dip into Ocean Hole’s cool, peaceful, and tranquil waters. Locals say the natural water, which is surrounded by rocks and green foliage, has no bottom and has healing abilities. Though fishing is prohibited here, bring your snorkeling gear and get up close and personal with an abundance of indigenous species such as snappers and groupers as they nibble on food directly from your hand.
