Pineapple Festival Park
Official Eleuthera Harbour Island brings you information on the Pineapple Festival Park located in North Eleuthera.
Pineapple cultivation has always been a major economic basis in Eleuthera. The Pineapple Festival was launched by The Ministry of Tourism in Eleuthera in 1988. The purpose of the festival is to honor local farmers for their outstanding contributions to the community and bring Bahamians and visitors together to participate in cultural activities. It is organized every year during the first week of June in Gregory Town.
Eleuthera has kept the celebration. Pineapple farmers are regarded as superstars during this four-day festival. The festival’s primary focus is agricultural heritage.
There is no entry charge, only a determination to have a great time at the Eleuthera pineapple festival!
The festival is a family-friendly event with a wide range of activities for visitors of all ages to enjoy. People come to try pineapples and watch and participate in activities such as culinary contests, eating contests, and pineapple pole plaiting. Those who are more athletically inclined will be delighted to join up for the Pineapple Cycling Classic, which takes place during the festival, while those who enjoy performing may wish to enter the Pineapple Princess Pageant.
The event is enjoyable for you and your friends and family to participate. All earnings benefit to the local community infrastructures on Eleuthera, Bahamas.
