Arrival
Every person must fill out and sign an immigration form when they arrive in the Bahamas. Part of this form they will keep until their departure. All arriving passengers will also be required to declare certain items that they are bringing with them into The Bahamas. Each adult visitor is allowed to bring into the Islands:
- 50 cigars
- 200 cigarettes (or one pound of tobacco)
- One quart of spirits and one quart of wine
- A variety of personal effects such as personal radio headsets, bicycle, two still cameras, etc.)
Non-residents: any other articles than tobacco and alcohol a maximum value of $100
Residents: articles up to USD$ 300.- if not already claimed on two previous occasions during the same calendar year. If returning after an absence of one year or more, the maximum value allowed $ 500.
All beer imported into the country is taxable at a rate of $10 per imperial gallon or $18 per case. All arriving passengers are allowed purchases up to $100.
