Fishing off Eleuthera is always a fun adventure. However, fishing on the reef offers a few more things that deep sea fishing does not. For one, you can go for a casual swim on the reef without the concern of a large shark coming up from the deep blue sea below you. Unlike deep sea fishing, where the ocean can drop to over 1,000 feet deep; the reef is relatively shallow.
Reef fishing generally goes down to a depth of 20-120 feet. In waters at a depth of even 80 feet, you can usually see the bottom clearly; as the water around Harbour Island in the Bahamas is warm and crystal clear year round.
