Airbnb was created in 2008 and was a game changer in the vacation rental agency world. It provided great tools for guests and for owners. This global company offers vacation rentals throughout the world and evidently has no local presence in Harbour Island. Airbnb lists properties without verifying the accuracy of the information provided, they process and remit payments to owners and may take sides with either counterparts in case of dispute.
The past couple of years (21-22) brought a lot of controversies about Airbnb and their way of doing business which led to owners and renters abandoning the use of such platforms.
